About Taylor
I’m a teacher, with over 8 years experience in Elementary and Post-Secondary education. I have tutored and taught both in the United States and abroad. I earned my Master’s Degree in Special Education from George Mason University. With a minor in Applied Behavior Analysis, and graduate certificates in Teacher Learners on the General Education and Adapted Curriculum, I have experience with a wide range of students.
After my first year of teaching, I quickly realized that there was a huge problem with the way that the education system was teaching our children to read. I took any opportunity that came my way to increase my knowledge of structured literacy. I’ve taken many courses and professional development in order to improve my practice.
Through that experience, I discovered the Science of Reading. Now, I specialize in helping students increase their literacy. I have found many parents and families are out of their depth when trying to understand their child’s literacy development. I began this service to help educate families and increase their ability to support and advocate for their child.
I would love to share my knowledge with you, and help set your child up for success!
Outside the classroom, I love to read, travel, and spend time with my family and our dog, Piper!
